The PRCS facilitates the entry of a food aid convoy to Northern Gaza

(Al-Bireh - Gaza: 30/3/2024): This afternoon, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) teams distributed 9 thousand food parcels to besieged Palestinian families in Northern Gaza, in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent and in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The PRCS facilitated the entry of an aid convoy consisting of 10 trucks of food parcels to distribute them to the Palestinian families who remained in the areas of Northern Gaza, under the stifling siege by the Israeli occupation, which separates the north of the Gaza Strip from its south and prevents the arrival of aid.

The aid convoy arrived in the northern Gaza Strip, where the civilians gathered in the streets waiting for it. PRCS teams distributed food parcels to them immediately before the convoy reached the stores and distribution points in the PRCS’ branch in Jabalia.

PRCS confirms that this aid does not meet the urgently required needs of the nearly 700,000 Palestinian citizens in Northern Gaza, who need 100 trucks and not 10 trucks per day, according to the UN institutions operating in the Gaza Strip.

The PRCS calls on the international community and its various institutions to put pressure on the occupation forces to allow and facilitate the entry of more aid into the areas of northern Gaza, which are experiencing a catastrophic humanitarian situation due to the scarcity of food and clean water.
