The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) provides its assistance to 429 families affected due to the weather conditions

(Al Bireh – 10/1/2013): The PRCS National Disaster Response Team together with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) teams have been responding to the humanitarian needs of various Palestinian communities affected by the bad weather conditions sweeping the country.


The PRCS National Disaster Response Team has distributed non food relief items to around 273 families containing 1628 members in various locations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Items distributed include tents, mattresses, blankets, plastic sheeting, hygiene kits and kitchen kits.


Moreover, the Team evacuated 77 families (552 members) whose homes were damaged due to floods in Idna, Yatta, Masafer Bani Naim in Hebron governorate and Jaba’ in Jenin governorate.


Furthermore, the Emergency Medical services (EMS) teams provided first aid to around 79 persons sustaining different injuries due to floods and weather related accidents.


The PRCS has dispatched around 500 volunteers to help in the relief operation carried out in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
