During his visit to PRCS Fayyad commends the PRCS’ work during the current adverse weather conditions

(Al Bireh – 9/1/2013): Mr. Salam Fayyad, the Palestinian Prime Minister, commends the relief operation carried out by the PRCS teams to respond to people’s needs during the current adverse weather conditions.


Touring the PRCS central operations room in Al Bireh, Fayyad confirms his appreciation to tens of PRCS volunteers who provide all possible assistance to affected people in various locations in the West Bank including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.


He also values the cooperation between the PRCS and other organizations mainly the civil defense.
Basheer Ahmad, Head of Disaster Management in the West Bank briefed Mr. Fayyad about the work of the operations room, data collection from different stations, and the services provided by the Disaster Management and Emergency Medical Services teams.


Moreover, Mr. Fayyad visited the PRCS warehouses and there Suleiman Al Ahmad, Head of Administration, showed the guest the relief items that are distributed to people and the DM equipments, in addition to the field hospitals.


For his part, Dr. Khaled Joudeh, the Director General, explained that relief and assistance efforts by PRCS teams are ongoing in various Palestinian communities, and the Society is well prepared to respond to this situation and the humanitarian needs of the affected people.


Finally, Dr. Joudeh pointed out that since last night the PRCS has raised its response to a higher alert due to the adverse weather conditions causing floods.
