Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Raises Its Response to the Higher Alert

(Al Bireh – 8/1/2013): Last night, PRCS’ Disaster Management Unit raised its response level to the higher alert due to the adverse weather conditions causing widespread flooding.

The PRCS National Disaster Response Team together with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) teams have been responding to the humanitarian needs of various Palestinian communities.

After an initial assessment done by the PRCS team in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, 126 families were handed relief items, blankets, covers and plastic sheeting to enable them to cope with the weather conditions.

In addition, PRCS EMS teams are providing first aid to many people, mainly in the Northern parts of the West Bank, who have been injured due to floods and flood-related accidents.
