ITUC Delegation visits PRCS/Gaza

(Gaza-28/11/2012): Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Director General Dr. KhaledJoudeh received today at PRCS branch in the Gaza Strip a delegation from the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).

The delegation was chaired by Ms. Sharon Burrow, General Secretary, and comprised Mr. HoucineAbbassi, the General Secretary of the Tunisian Labor Union, Mr. Bilal Makawi, from the International Transport Workers Federation and Mr. ShaherSae’d, Secretary General of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions.

During a joint press conference, Ms. Burrow explained that this visit comes in a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people, its just cause and Palestine’s steadfast workers. She lauded the great humanitarian work done by PRCS during the latest attackon the Strip.

Mr. Sae’d said that many representatives of world trade unions are visiting and have visited the Gaza Strip to show their support to Palestinians following Israel’s latest attack.

Dr. khaledJoudeh welcomed the delegation and conveyed to its members the greetings of Dr. Younis Al khatib, PRCS President. “PRCS crews work relentlessly with all stakeholders to provide the best services possible to Palestinians, especially given the dire conditions witnessed in the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of the Israeli attack.
