Four PRCS EMTs Injured Due To A Shelling Targeting Beit Hanoun Area

(Gaza – 19/11/2012): Four PRCS emergency medical technicians “EMTs” sustained different injuries early this morning due to a shelling of a house in Beit Hanoun area.

Following the shelling of Beit Hanoun, PRCS EMTs were dispatched to the area to provide humanitarian assistance to the victims when a second Israeli attack targeted the same area.

This attack has resulted also in severe damages to the ambulances present at the scene.

Dr. Younis Al Khatib, PRCS President, affirmed that this is a crime and a blatant violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), which prohibits indiscriminate attacks or any attack, may cause gross loss of civilians and their properties.

Dr. Al Khatib also added that all PRCS ambulances and medical teams are holding clear emblem which can be identified from a far distance. This refutes the Israeli allegation that the ambulance or team is invisible.

End.
