PRCS Humanitarian Response

Both PRCS operations rooms in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are operating around the clock to monitor the situation on the ground and manage the humanitarian services provided by the Society to the victims of the Israeli attack.

 

Here is a summary of the PRCS activities:

  •  Around 200 volunteers have been deployed to help the EMS and DM staff in evacuating and treating the victims of the Israeli attack.

 

  •  Till this moment, twenty-nine (12 children, 3 women, 3 men)of the 47 dead and two hundred and seventy (80 women, 150 children, 24 old men & 3 journalists) of the 436 wounded were evacuated, treated and transferred to hospitals by PRCS teams in all the governorates of the Gaza Strip.

 

  •  The PRCS received on 16/11/2012 a consignment of medical items from the Egyptian Red Crescent Society that may contribute in meeting the medical needs of the Gazan hospitals. This consignment of 100 packs containing medicines, disposable medical items and emergency supplies was dispatched by the Palestine Red Crescent Society to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.

 

  •  The PRCS on 16/11/2012 has donated 3 surgical kits to the Al Shifa governmental hospital in Gaza that may deal with up to 600 cases.

 

The constant shelling of the Gaza Strip has resulted in some damages in PRCS Gaza, Jabalya and Der Al Balah branches in addition to the EMS station and Al Quds hospital in Gaza city. Furthermore, Five of PRCS staff sustained some bruises due to the shattered rubble.
