(Beit Jala, 20-9-2012): PRCS concludes its 5-day Youth Camp held at Talita Qoumi School in Beit Jala with the participation of 45 young men and women from West Bank Governorates.
The Camp aimed at raising young Palestinians’ awareness of the importance of psychological debriefing for children and school pupils in times of conflict through sports and drama activities. Moreover, the camp focused on leadership, communication skills, and team building throughout its activities.
During his visit to the camp, Dr. Khalid Joudeh, the Director General of PRCS passed the greetings of Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, PRCS President, and the Executive Committee to participants. He also appreciated the effort of the Youth and Volunteers department for reinforcing the voluntary spirit in the Palestinian society through various activities implemented by the program.
Mr. Mahdi Al-Jamal, Head of Youth Program, valued the support provided by the Danish Red Cross Youth to Talita Camp and to the PRCS Youth activities in general. Another example of the cooperation between both organizations is the Leadership Academy training which 7 PRCS youths attended in Copenhagen last month.
It is to be noted that the Youth Program at PRCS, founded in 2009, aims at contributing to the development of youth capacities, enhancing their mental and physical skills in accordance with the needs of youth and their society, as well as directing attention toward leadership and development according to PRCS values and principles.
