Graduation Ceremony for Total Communication School Students

(Al Bireh- 31/5/2012): A graduation ceremony was held today at PRCS Headquarters’ Conference Hall for students from the Society’s Total Communication School. The ceremony was attended by PRCS President Dr. Younis Al Khatib, PRCS Director General Dr. Khaled Joudeh, PRCS Head of Operations Mr. Rabah Jabr as well as by several Department Directors, representatives from partner institutions, staff, volunteers and the families of graduates.
 

In his speech, Dr. Al Khatib said he was very proud of and filled with joy for these new graduates. He underlined efforts made by the School’s staff and hoped that these graduates will work hard to serve Palestine. “It gives us joy to see the perseverance and will of these hearing-impaired students”, he added, valuing the cooperation of parents and all friendly and partner institutions.


Suheir Badarneh, Head of PRCS Rehabilitation Program, spoke about efforts made over the past year in order to graduate the school’s fourth class, build the capacities of staff and develop the learning and educational environment at the school. “The school also helps students find vocational training opportunities. Five female students are currently studying to become educators, while eleven male students are enrolled in a vocational course on Aluminum. Moreover, the school teaches sign language, provides its sign language interpreter to institutions requiring such services, provides training to parents and works to improve their relations with their children. Moreover, the school has won the e-learning initiative organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Education.
 

Mounadel Alawi, Valedictorian, valued efforts made by PRCS to make his dream –as well as that of six of his classmates- come true, i.e. the dream to obtain their national high school diplomas. He hoped to be able to pay Palestine back for these efforts. One mother spoke about the great achievements made by her son throughout his school years. She commended the role played by PRCS and its administrative staff as well as by the Total Communication School and its staff.


The graduation ceremony featured artistic performances by the School’s troupe, as well as a dance performance by Adnan Ayash who is enrolled at the school. Moreover, a theatre play on university education was presented by several school alumni.


Graduates received their diplomas at the end of the ceremony.
