Workshop on Disaster Preparedness for the Hearing Impaired Students at Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS)

(Al Bireh-15/12/2011): PRCS organized today a training workshop on disaster preparedness focusing on earthquake. Held at PRCS headquarters in Al Bireh, the workshop targeted students, teachers and managerial staff from the PRCS Total Communication Center and tackled issues such as preparing for earthquakes as well as behavior during and in the aftermath of earthquakes. Students were lectured on how to behave in and outside buildings, cars, streets and in any open space should an earthquake happen.

Rana Al Faqih, PRCS Disaster Unit Coordinator in the Central West Bank said that the workshop is in line with the Society’s strategy aimed at enhancing staff and local community readiness and preparedness for disasters and emergencies, with a view to reduce their risks.
