PRCS inaugurates a laboratory and clinics in Attil

(Attil-14/11/2011): PRCS President Dr. Younis Al Khatib inaugurated a laboratory and medical clinics at PRCS sub branch in Attil(Al Sha’arawiya, Tulkarem Governorate, Northern West Bank). The inauguration ceremony was also attended by PRCS Director General Dr. Khaled Joudeh, PRCS Planning Director Dr. Wa’el Ka’adan, PRCS Head of Section in Al Sha’arawiya Dr. Mouwafaq Amer, Tulkarem Governor Gen. Talal Dweikat, Head of the Health Directorate in Tulkarem Dr. Sa’eed Hannoun, as well as a large crowd comprising officials from Civil Society Organizations and eminent local personalities.


In his welcome address, Dr. Mouwafaq Amer spoke about the sub branch’s achievements and services provided to Palestinians in the area which comprises the following villages: Attil, Deir el Ghsoun, Allar, Baka al Sharkiya, Kafeen, Saida and Al Nazlat. He touched on the importance of the new laboratory and clinics for Palestinians in the area, adding that the laboratory was built with support from the UAE Red Crescent Society while PRCS itself built the pediatrics and gynecology clinics as well as the Ear Nose and Throat and the general medicine clinics. Dr. Amer added that the section is currently preparing a number of projects to serve local communities, mainly the building and equipping of a number of floors in the sub branch’s premises, as well as the inauguration of an Operating Room and additional medical sections.


Dr. Al Khatib underlined the achievements made by this PRCS sub branch, which proved that it was capable of healing the wounds of Palestinians and providing them with humanitarian and health services. “This is an exceptional sub branch of which PRCS is proud. PRCS shall stand by it and help develop its staff and capacities in order to provide the best services to Palestinians in nearby towns and villages as well as in marginalized areas lacking services and affected by the Wall of Separation and settlements.


General Dweikat lauded the great services provided by PRCS to Palestinians in the homeland and the diaspora, saying it provided a wonderful example of Palestinian institutions working side by side with the Ministry of Health. He hoped that medical services in Palestine would develop to become similar to those provided in neighboring countries.
Dr. Hannoun stressed the deep cooperation and partnerships with PRCS in Tulkarem in particular and Palestine in general with a view to serving Palestinian communities.
