A delegation from the Bosnian ‘Merhamet’ Society visited PRCS/Gaza on 3 September 2010. The delegation donated 5 ambulances to PRCS which will join the Society’s humanitarian fleet operating in the Strip, thus strengthening services provided to Palestinians.

During this 2-day visit, the delegation, chaired by Dr. Abdelkarim Fazli?, Vice President of ‘Merhamet’, toured Northern Gaza Governorates to get acquainted with humanitarian conditions there as well as with damages sustained due to the latest war waged by Israel on Gaza.

Dr. Khalil Abou el Foul, Head of the Disaster Management Department at PRCS, and Mrs Hanan Lathan, PR officer at PRCS/Gaza, briefed the delegation in detail on PRCS, its services and its role in facing the health and humanitarian consequences of the war.

The delegation also got a first hand view of the damage and destruction sustained by PRCS facilities in the Strip, which are still evident. The delegation also covered the costs of a collective Iftar meal for a number of needy families in the Strip.

This was the first such visit to the Occupied Palestinian Territory by the Bosnian ‘Merhamet” Society, which is a humanitarian relief organization.
