French Consul General in Jerusalem visited PRCS Gaza branch

The new French Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. Frédéric Desagneaux, accompanied by a diplomatic delegation from France, visited PRCS branch in Gaza city on 2009.09.10, and was briefed on the PRCS work in Gaza Strip.

The French delegation was received by Dr Khaled Joudeh, assistant director of PRCS in Gaza, and Mr. Omar Al- Azayzeh, the Administration Director of PRCS in Gaza Strip, Dr. Khalil Abu al-Ful coordinator of disaster management unit, and Dr. Bashar Murad, director of Emergency medical services in the provinces of Gaza strip.

During the tour in Al Quds Hospital, Dr. Joudeh briefed the delegation about the objectives, activities, and programs of the PRCS. He also elaborated on the condition of Al Quds Hospital and its operational capabilities before and after the Israeli army attack on it last January which affected the level of services provided to the citizens.

On his part, Consul Desagneaux reassured that his visit to Gaza strip was a top priority. He pointed out that the French government is working to ease the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza Strip and to enable them to remain part of the Palestinian state.

Moreover, Mr. Desagneaux met with the French committee which supervises a project for maintaining the laboratory and radiology units at Al Quds Hospital. The work in these units is scheduled to start soon.
