The PRCS concludes a course in the International Humanitarian Law (IHL)In which participated 25 officers from the Palestinian Security Services
Al-Bireh- The PRCS concluded on the 29th of July 2009, at its headquarter in Al-Bireh a course in the International Humanitarian Law (IHL), in which participated 25 officers from the Palestinian Security Services.
The course, that lasted for four consecutive days, included lectures on various topics; most importantly: The History and Evolution of the PRCS, Principles of the International Movement of the Red Cross and The Red Crescent, Social and Health services provided by the PRCS, as well as the Emergence, Evolution and Principles of the IHL.
Lectures also covered the IHL, the International Human Rights Law, Rules of Conduct During times of War, Use of Force in the International Relations, Rights and Duties of Medical Staff during armed Conflict, and the emblem of the International Movement of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent.
Topics also covered war detainees, Law of war occupation in general, in particular the Israeli Occupation, ICRC Role in the IHL, Protected Categories from wounded, sick and sunken, as well as violation generating responsibilities.
The course concluded when the Major General, Abdullah Al-As handed certificates to participants.
