The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and the Qatar Red Crescent Society sign an agreement to reconstruct Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza

Al-Bireh – The PRCS and the Qatar Red Crescent Society signed today the 20th of April, 2009 an agreement to reconstruct PRCS Quds Hospital in Gaza which was damaged during the latest Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

The agreement which was signed between PRCS President Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, and Mr. Khaled Ben Ghanem Al-Ali from the Qatar Red Crescent Society stated that the Qatar Red Crescent Society will provide the PRCS with 750000$ to finance the reconstruction of Al-Quds Hospital which is situated inside the PRCS Noor Medical City in Gaza.

Large parts of Al-Noor Medical City, including parts of Al-Quds Hospital, were damaged as a cause of the latest Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The last attack burnt some floors of the hospital, destroyed the medical warehouses and everything inside them from medicine to medical supplies, destroyed the administration building and the activity building as well as the cultural center and a number of ambulances.

It is worth mentioning that as a result of the latest Israeli aggression the PRCS launched its appeal to Red Crescent/Red Cross Societies as well as to Humanitarian Organizations in order to support the reconstruction and the redevelopment of the Medical City whose loses amounted to approximately 15 million dollars.
