PRCS is ready to hold its 10th General Assembly, honoring of its 40th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

 The PRCS is ready to hold its 10th General Assembly, honoring its 40th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement. The opening ceremony of this humanitarian event will be held on the 7th of March in Ramallah's Cultural Palace, and will continue at PRCS headquarter in Al-Bireh (Ramallah) on the 8th and 9th of March 2009. PRCS President Dr. Younis Al- Khatib will provide the welcoming remarks and Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Salam Fayyad and the Deputy of the International Committee of the Red Cross will provide keynote addresses. Representative members of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will also provide presentations. Members participating in this event will discuss programs and services provided through the PRCS executive office and its departments. Furthermore, new Executive Board Members will be elected.

During the General Assembly, discussion sessions will focus on responses to manmade and natural disasters, community-based work and International Humanitarian Law.
