PRCS denounces Israel’s targeting of civilians and medical facilities in its continued bombing of the Gaza Strip

PRCS issued a statement today denouncing Israel’s targeting of civilians, civilian properties and installations and transportation means operated by humanitarian, medical and other civilian organizations with no military activities, in its continued bombing of the Gaza Strip.
This morning, occupation forces bombed the Tal El Hawa neighborhood in Gaza city, where PRCS’s Al Noor Medical City is located, causing major material damages to the buildings and destroying ambulances parked inside the premises, as well as medicine stores and disaster response warehouses. Shrapnel reached the administration building and Al Quds Hospital, damaging communication equipment, furniture, windows and computers.
In addition to that, bombs reached Al Shifa Hospital where a medical worker was killed and many others were wounded, along with a number of patients inside the hospital.
In this context, PRCS warned of the violent and continued bombing of Gaza and its consequences on the humanitarian level. It appealed to the international community, represented by the United Nations and its Security Council, and the States party to the Geneva Conventions of 1949, to shoulder their legal responsibility actively and not merely in rhetoric, in order to put an end to Israel’s conduct in violation of International Law.
It called for an investigation of all Israeli crimes committed in the Gaza Strip, and also urged the ICRC, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement members as well as humanitarian and international relief institutions to act against the atrocities perpetrated in Gaza; to accomplish their duties as humanitarian aid providers; to exert their best efforts to relieve the suffering of civilians, casualties and patients; and to provide medical supplies and emergency humanitarian services to these victims who had the legal and natural right to receive humanitarian aid, as it is the duty of these institutions to provide such assistance.
