Dr. Younis Al Khatib Concludes High-Level Visit to Geneva to Highlight Humanitarian Crisis in Palestine

Dr. Younis Al Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, concluded a two-day diplomatic mission to Geneva (May 22–23) to rally international support for the escalating humanitarian crisis in Palestine, particularly in Gaza.
Invited by the IFRC Secretary-General, Dr. Younis engaged with around 50 diplomatic missions and humanitarian partners. He delivered a detailed briefing to the Donor Advisory Group+ (DAG+) and held bilateral meetings with key stakeholders, including Mr. Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and senior officials from OCHA.
He also met with representatives from the ICRC, Swiss Red Cross, and held a general media briefing to shed light on urgent humanitarian needs, restricted aid access, and the killing of eight PRCS staff.
Dr. Younis emphasized the urgent need for safe humanitarian access and protection of frontline medical teams working under life-threatening conditions.
