Department of Education and Rehabilitation of the Deaf

The Society provides special education for children with moderate to profound hearing disabilities in the age group (3-18 years) through 3 schools in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. 

These schools adopt the Palestinian curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education and adopt the full communication program. 
 

Note that the educational program at Al Hilal Schools for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Deaf consists of two sections:

1. Preschool Program (Kindergarten) 

It focuses on empowering the deaf with oral, auditory and manual means of communication and communication by training children on the various elements of the full communication program (speech training, lip reading, sign language, auditory training, reading and writing) in addition to providing the appropriate social educational environment that enables deaf children to develop normally like their peers from the hearing in terms of mental, social, psychological and motor aspects through a purposeful and planned daily program. 

2. School education for the deaf 

Deaf students are taught the prescribed curriculum of education through deaf teaching methods and a complete communication program. In addition to the educational program provided to deaf students, the schools organize activities in various fields aimed at developing the capabilities of deaf children and boys in various fields such as recreational, sports, creative, artistic, cultural and awareness activities, 

most of which are implemented in an environment that stimulates integration between deaf children and their peers.
