A statement issued by PRCS regarding false accusations

PRCS categorically rejects the false accusations of the spokesman of the Israeli occupation forces related to the use of a PRCS ambulance by armed groups in Jenin, on March 7, 2023. This false accusation constitutes a deliberate and dangerous incitement against PRCS medical teams and vehicles and puts the lives of the EMS teams in danger. It directly incites and invites settlers and occupation forces to continue targeting PRCS medical teams and ambulances. It is known to the Israeli occupation forces that PRCS ambulances are clearly marked with the protected emblem of the Red Crescent on all sides and the top of the vehicles, which means they are easily identified from the sky and all angles.

Furthermore, we have witnessed in recent developments as in the past that the Israeli occupation forces have used PRCS ambulances for military purposes, as documented by video in Aqbat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho, on March 1, 2023, when they seized two PRCS ambulances and used them as shields to protect military vehicles and soldiers who hid behind them and continued shooting at Palestinians, in a clear and grave violation of international humanitarian law.

PRCS stresses its strict and complete adherence to the Fundamental Principles of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and calls on ICRC and the international community to ensure the protection of medical teams, vehicles, and facilities and ensure that Israel, the Occupying Power, adheres and respects the provisions of IHL and put an end to Israel's impunity.
