School-based psychosocial support and neighborhood-based psychosocial support during school closures

This support aims at meeting children’s needs and minimizing the effects of crises. It includes mental support and emotional release activities aimed at:

  • Engaging children in joyful and playful activities and promoting their right to play as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child;
  • Offering children safe spaces where they can express themselves and feel comfortable and protected from the surrounding violence;
  • Building self-confidence and tolerance among children;
  • Building stronger relations between schools and children for better educational results;

Reducing aggressivity and violent behavior in children.
