Lebanon: a complex emergency

Lebanon has been facing a complex and growing humanitarian crisis since late 2019, generating widespread and growing assistance and protection needs. Two powerful explosions in the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020, have had devastating effects, at a time when the country is grappling with overlapping economic and financial crises, political volatility, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, Lebanon hosts the highest percentage of refugees per capita in the world.
