PRCS sub branch in Jaba’a was created in 2004 by a group of people from the town in order to fulfill the health and social needs of the more than 50 thousand people living in Jaba’a and in nearby villages where these services were urgently needed as the nearest Palestinian city is far away and also due to the many Israeli incursions which lead to numerous injuries.
Objectives
• To fulfill the health, social and humanitarian needs of inhabitants in Jaba’a and in nearby villages;
• To enhance the spirit of voluntary action.
Services
- Primary Health Care Center: It provides general medicine, laboratory, dental, pharmacy and pregnancy care services. Moreover, a specialist visits the center once a week and provides care to pregnant women. The center operates five days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (morning hours) and six days a week from 5:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. (evening hours). It is manned by a general practitioner, a laboratory technician, a dentist, a gynecologist, two nurses and a cleaning lady.
- Psycho-Social Support Center:
Established in 2006, the center implements the Psychosocial Support Program with a view to improving psychological conditions for pupils and their families. Nine psychological workers, a secretary, two drivers and a cleaning lady work in the center.
- EMS Center:
Equipped with an ambulance and its team, the center operates 8 hours per day.
- Newly Established Nursery
- Youths and Volunteers Department:
It comprises 60 volunteers who received training and preparations in various fields, including First Aid, to be able to handle disasters. These volunteers provide their services in all the Section’s centers, disseminate the principles and objectives of both PRCS and the International Movement, and implement numerous health, social and recreational activities to the benefit of the local community.
