Tubas branch

PRCS branch in Tubas Governorate was created in 1995 with a view to providing health and humanitarian services to the local community. At first, the branch provided Emergency Medical Services and Primary Health Care before it grew and started providing additional programs and services.

Programs and Services

The branch provides several services as follows:

1. Primary Health Care
PHC is one of the key services provided at the branch which includes a gynecology clinic, a general medicine clinic and a laboratory.

2. Mother and Child Care
A specialized team organizes home visits to mothers and newborn children and provides mothers with health information to better enable them to take care of themselves and their babies.

3. Health Empowerment and Education (Safe Motherhood)
This program aims at enhancing the role played by women through training and awareness-raising courses in various health, social and educational fields. The program is implemented in several nearby villages with committees working in schools to raise health awareness and provide First Aid training to both pupils and teachers.

4. Rehabilitation and Capacity Development of Persons with Special Needs
The branch allocates special attention to the rehabilitation of persons with special needs including injured, disabled and sick Palestinians. It provides various services targeting persons suffering from mental, physical and speech and hearing disabilities. The branch also operates a physiotherapy center.

5. Psychosocial Support
Psychosocial support services target fifth and sixth grade pupils and teachers. They aim at providing them with the necessary skills and means to mitigate the effect of external factors as well as at providing them with support when needed.

6. EMS Center
The branch runs an EMS Center which operates 3 ambulances and employs 12 EMTs around the clock. The Center covers all communities in Tubas Governorate, including the Northern Aghwar and Al Jaftlek.

7. Emergency Clinic
As the Governorate lacks its own hospital, the branch created an Emergency Center which is the only medical center in the Governorate which operates 24/7 against symbolic fees. The center also provides its services free-of-charge to patients suffering from chronic diseases such as cancer, thalassemia, and kidney failure.

8. Youths and Volunteers
Ever since its inception, the branch mobilized volunteers, rehabilitating them, building their capacities and providing them with training in various fields to help implement its health, social and cultural programs. Not only do youths and volunteers provide support to the branch’s programs, but they also help in implementing various community-based activities offered by governmental and non-governmental organizations.
