Qalqilia branch

The PRCS’ branch in Qalqilia was established on 25 February 1994, with a view to providing humanitarian, health and social services to residents of Qalqilia Governorate through the following services, programs and centers:

  • Emergency Medical Services Center: The Center provides emergency services to around 114 000 residents. It operates 2 fully-equipped ambulances as well as four additional vehicles. The center is manned by 16 EMTs who work around the clock at the center’s headquarters in Qalqilia city and at its sub-center in Azzoun.

  •  Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center: This specialized Center comprises 3 sections: a physiotherapy section, a social services section and the Home Enrichment Program. It offers a variety of services to local communities including disability screenings, diagnosis services, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, assistive devices, prosthetic services, home visits, educational and training sessions and physiotherapy courses.
  • Community Work Program: This Program aims at building the capacities and resilience of local communities. It raises communities’ health awareness, offers community-based education and holds courses to build capacities and identify strengths and weaknesses in each area. The program also encourages community members to become PRCS’ volunteers.
  • Volunteers: The branch works with tens of active and effective volunteers who help implement the Society’s programs and services. They also run a number of activities such as awareness-raising programs, voluntary days, training courses, educational workshops and fun activities.
  • Youths: The branch’s Youths Program targets youths aged between 18 and 30 via a series of workshops, trainings, meetings with pupils, students and local community members. It helps implement the following programs: Youth as Agents of Behavioral Change, Life Skills, Girls’ Club and Sports as a Tool for Psychosocial Support.
  • Disaster Management Unit: The Unit encourages community members to join the National Disaster Management Team to prepare them to intervene in times of crisis. It also runs a community-based awareness program and can distribute relief items from its strategic reserves to residents affected by occupation or weather-induced disasters.
  • Pharmacy: the branch operates a pharmacy which receives medicine donations from several donors. Run by a pharmacist, the pharmacy distributes donated medicines to persons in need as well as to hospitals, medical centers and doctors in the Governorate free-of-charge. It also takes part in free medical days organized or co-organized by the branch.
