PRCS Holds 20 Community-Based First Aid Courses

 (Al-Bireh – 2692020): For the second year in a row, and supporetd by PCPM - Polish Center for International Aid, PRCS held 20 Community-Based First Aid courses during the month of September.

 
The courses, which are part of a training and development program for medical and emergency services, were attended by 390 participants from the West Bank, and especially from marginalized areas as well as areas threatened with confiscation and annexation which are located in and around the Jordan Valley. All safety measures in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic were observed during these courses.
 
The training was carried out by PRCS EMS Department. It included useful information, tips and skills on dealing with accidents and injuries, providing First Aid in emergency situations such as injuries, bleeding, burns and bone fractures as well as performing CPR while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
 
Courses and related field activities were coordinated and supervised by the Society’s Community Work Department and its field coordinators at PRCS branches.
 
Participants from 22 towns, villages and Bedouin communities in four Governorates (Jerusalem, Nablus, Toubas and Jenin) took part in them. Follow-up visits were also organized to areas in Toubas and Jenin Governorates to monitor course implementation and obtain feedback on obstacles faced by organizers and participants due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
