(Beirut, Al-Bireh: 4/8/2020): A state of emergency was declared at PRCS hospitals and facilities in Beirut in the aftermath of the massive explosion that shook Lebanon’s capital.
PRCS ambulances and staff assisted the Lebanese Red Cross in the evacuation, rescue and transportation of persons injured in the blast that rocked Beirut port. Patients were transported to Lebanese hospitals and PRCS health facilities including Haifa and Al Hamshari hospitals in Beirut which received tens of casualties.
PRCS President Dr. Younis Al-Khatib affirmed that PRCS and all Palestinians stood alongside Lebanon on this sad day. “PRCS staff, ambulances and facilities are doing their utmost to assist in rescue and evacuation efforts as part of their humanitarian mission and pan-Arab commitment”, he said.
Dr. Samer Shihadeh, PRCS Director General in Lebanon, said PRCS staff and facilities were on high alert and have taken part in rescue and evacuation efforts from the very first moment.
PRCS has launched a blood donation campaign at all its hospitals in Beirut and Sidon.
