(Al-Bireh- 20/7/2020): PRCS President Dr. Younis Al Khatib delivered today a new state-of-the-art and fully equipped ambulance donated by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to Qabatia Municipality.
Al Khatib thanked the government and people of Kuwait for this generous donation. The ambulance, which was equipped by PRCS, shall contribute to improving Emergency Medical Services offered to approximately 35 000 Palestinians in and aroundQabatia, a town located to the East of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Al Khatib also commended the close cooperation between PRCS on the one hand and Qabatia Municipality and other local authorities in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, on the other hand. This cooperation, he said, facilitates the provision of services to Palestinians, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Al Khatib expressed pride in and appreciation for PRCS EMS teams throughout the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. He also lauded efforts made by Palestinian medical personnel in general, and preventive medicine teams in particular, who are on the forefront of the COVID-19 response.
Bilal Assaf, Mayor of Qabatia, acknowledged the great efforts made by PRCS to deliver and equip the new ambulance to be operated by the Municipality with a view to serving thousands of Palestinians in the area. He praised the hard work done by PRCS and the Palestinian Ministry of Health to respond to the pandemic in the oPt, and urged everyone to abide by precautionary and safety measures until this pandemic ends.
Assaf awarded PRCS and KRCS two honorary shields in recognition of their work in the humanitarian field.
