A Delegation From the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Visits the Gaza Strip

(Gaza - 25/6/2018):  A delegation from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) visited PRCS’ premises in the Gaza Strip and met with Dr. Bashar Murad, PRCS’ Deputy Director General in southern Governorates. Chaired by Cristina Natoli, Head of AICS’ office in Jerusalem, the Italian delegation also held talks with the Director and staff of the Society’s Psychosocial Support  Department, including psychological health professionals, who spoke about key achievements and aspirations as well as about the challenges they face on a daily basis.

Delegation members then watched a few recreational and artistic activities targeting children before touring several wards at PRCS’ Al Quds hospital including the Accident and Emergency ward, the Cardiology ward, the X-ray and MRI Department and the Surgery ward. The hospital’s director and doctors touched on services provided by the hospital and described the medical equipment available in it. “This visit is part of efforts aimed at promoting coordination and cooperation with a view to strengthening PRCS to help it meet the needs of Palestinians. It also aims at explaining the various social, health and psychological services offered by PRCS”, Dr. Mourad said.

Ms. Natoli commended efforts made by PRCS to assist all those in need in the Gaza Strip by offering them health and humanitarian services. She lauded the work carried out by psychological health professionals and medical staff at Al Quds hospital and hoped that PRCS would continue to do its best to allay the suffering of all Palestinians.
