(Nablus – 6/5/2018): PRCS’ branch in Nablus marked today the end of the school year at its rehabilitation centres. The ceremony was attended by Nablus Governor Akram Roujoob, PRCS’ Director General Dr. Khaled Joudeh, several PRCS’ directors, representatives from civil society organizations and government bodies, as well as the Chair and Director General of the branch and several of its Administrative Board members, staff and volunteers.
Hilal Touffaha, Head of the branch’s Administrative Board, spoke about unleashing students’ potential and the role played by PRCS to rehabilitate and provide care to children with motor, hearing and mental disabilities. He thanked all those who work hard to achieve this end.
Speaking on behalf of PRCS’ President, Dr. Joudeh said “the Society will be marking its fiftieth anniversary with a series of events that reflect the great humanitarian services it provides to Palestinians, and especially to persons with disabilities. In this regard, PRCS has laid the cornerstone for a new school for the hearing-impaired in Ramallah with a view to meeting the needs of students with disabilities”.
Nablus Governor Akram Roujoob lauded efforts made by PRCS in various fields, including in terms of rehabilitating students with disabilities. He also praised the role played by its emergency medical teams and volunteers in the field.
Several artistic performances were presented by students from the Special Education School, the High School for Hearing-Impaired Students, the Fawaz Al Kassas Centre for Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Cerebral Palsy Centre.
Moreover, the success story of student Halima Al Sakhleh was narrated and an artifact and educational tools exhibition was organized on the sidelines of the ceremony.
