Brazilian Ambassador Francisco Mauro and UNDP Delegation Visit PRCS’ Offices in the Gaza Strip

 (Gaza -4/7/2017):  Brazilian Ambassador and Head of the Representative Office of Brazil to the State of Palestine, Mr. Francisco Mauro, accompanied by a UNDP delegation, visited PRCS’ headquarters in the Gaza Strip on July 4, 2017. The delegation was received by Dr. Bashar Mourad, Deputy PRCS’ Director General in Southern Governorates as well as by several PRCS’ heads of divisions.

A meeting was held with Dr. Khalil Abou’l Foul, Director of PRCS’ Al Quds hospital, who spoke about the hospital’s facilities and services, works aimed at setting up a new cardiac catheterization ward, future aspirations and programs as well as obstacles facing PRCS in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Mourad also took the floor to express his gratitude to his Brazilian guest and to applaud the close ties between Palestine and Brazil. This visit, he said, aims at furthering cooperation and coordination between both parties with a view to developing PRCS’ health and humanitarian action. It also aims at surveying works at the new cardiac and inpatient wards which shall enhance health services in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Ambassador Mauro said he was very pleased with this visit and lauded the constructive role played by PRCS especially in the health field. Efforts continue to build the capacities of Al Quds hospital and to enhance its performance, he added.

The delegation then visited the hospital’s cardiac ward and surveyed the works taking place therein as well as the ward’s equipment.
