PRCS Provides EMS to 678 Wounded Palestinians and 13 Martyrs in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between 13 June to 5 July 2014

Following attacks by Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip after the abduction and killing of three Israelis, PRCS transported the bodies of 13 martyrs (10 in the West Bank and 3 in the Gaza Strip) and provided Emergency Medical Services and medical transportation to 678 wounded Palestinians (653 in the West Bank and 25 in the Gaza Strip). PRCS declared the state of emergency thus has mobilized all of its EMS vehicles (122 ambulances), technicians (250) and EMS volunteers (300) to be all on duty and respond to the emergency calls.


PRCS’ crews were subject to 13 different violations while operating during clashes between Palestinians and occupation forces, mainly in Hebron Governorate. Violations included the firing of gas bombs at ambulances, smashing their windows and aggressions against its teams, preventing paramedics from assisting the wounded and transporting them to hospital, detaining ambulances and delaying them from reaching injured Palestinians. Moreover, PRCS’ figures reveal that during the same period, settlers attacked Palestinian civilians in eleven different incidents in the West Bank.


In the Gaza Strip, PRCS provided relief assistance to 15 families whose homes were either destroyed or damaged following Israeli bombings.


In a different vein, PRCS mobilized 290 volunteers and 8 ambulances during the first Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan (04.07.2014) to provide humanitarian and medical services on military checkpoints leading to Jerusalem to Palestinians who were prevented by the Israeli occupation from reaching Al Aqsa Mosque for the Friday prayer. PRCS’ crews on those checkpoints facilitated the movement of and provided medical assistance to 220 Palestinians.
