PRCS Dispatches 53 Relief Aid Trucks to the Gaza Strip

(Al-Bireh- 19/8/2014): Fifty three trucks loaded with relief aid were dispatched from PRCS’ Headquarters in Al-Bireh to the Gaza Strip in coordination with ICRC. This aid shall be distributed to affected families and displaced populations living in shelters in the aftermath of the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

Relief items included food, blankets, mattresses, medicine, water, clothes as well as milk and diapers for children. All items were donated by individuals, Civil Society Organizations, municipalities and Village Councils throughout the West Bank.

Tens of PRCS’ staff and volunteers in the Gaza Strip have so far distributed urgent relief items to 16 184 families (96 966 persons) currently living in public schools, UNRWA schools and public buildings in Gaza City, Khan Younis, Deir el Balah and Rafah.

In a visit to the Gaza Strip last week, PRCS’ President Dr. Younis Al Khatib affirmed that PRCS shall continue to provide urgent relief and humanitarian aid to families in distress in order to reduce their suffering, heal their wounds and meet their needs under these very difficult circumstances.
