101 Call Center

The 101 emergency call and dispatch system was initially developed as a decentralized platform linked to several call centers. In 2019, the system was overhauled: 101 calls were consolidated through one center in Ramallah serving the entire West Bank.

This centralized, consolidated and free-of-charge system offers a more efficient and streamlined response: it identifies and dispatches the closest available ambulance, saves time and effort thanks to its GPS-enabled technology, and allows for the modernization of services thanks to the data it generates and stores.

In the Gaza Strip, the emergency call system remains decentralized, with emergency centers operating independently and implementing different dispatch systems. PRCS is collaborating with WHO to adopt a consolidated and centralized system similar to the one in the West Bank.

Occupied Jerusalem has its own local emergency number given the city’s particular political context.
