Why are PRCS volunteers so special?

PRCS volunteers come from diverse sociocultural backgrounds, represent different age groups and cover many areas of competence. They are present throughout Palestine and the diaspora, are embedded within local communities and carry out a multitude of frontline tasks. They are highly motivated and driven by their love for their homeland. Volunteers are guided by the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, especially the principle of Humanity. They form part of a wide network which enjoys meaningful relations with local communities based on trust.

Volunteers receive specialized training to enable them to support the Society’s activities. A wide array of fields are covered including emergency medical services, disaster risk management, mental health, rehabilitation and community work. PRCS places great trust in its volunteers and relies on them to represent it at local and international events. This increases their motivation, enthusiasm and faith in the Society.
